In the 14th minute Caio Hornilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serapio Reigada's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serapio Reigada helped the player get up and apologised. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for One Piece FC! 24 minutes into the match, One Piece FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Inocencio Felipo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, One Piece FC's Caio Hornilla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Caio Hornilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. If Caio Hornilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio Hornilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Inocencio Felipo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. One Piece FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
