Haroldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taquaritinga's goalie prevented a goal. 10 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Haroldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Peru's Julian Murillo got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luz Tejedor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. The throw-in from Severiano Arano in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Sá in the 50th minute of the match. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga made a substitution. Breno Loyola replaced Armando Graack. A throw-in in the 64th minute of the game was made by Severiano Arano with Nilmar de Moraes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 66 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Sá came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes, Breno Loyola made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Peru's Rolando Noboa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nilmar de Moraes hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Milagros Fraga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Haroldo Dante. The goal made the score 2-1. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Haroldo Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Leonel Messi was substituted for David Lima. Anthony Alvarado kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the game, Rafael Gallo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Haroldo Dante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Messi in the 88th minute of play. Rafael Gallos short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Haroldo Dante to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. 93 minutes into the game, Milagros Fraga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Haroldo Dante. Milagros Fraga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. The Clube Atl. Taquaritinga fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
