The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Innokentiy Blyakhin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sultan-Mehmet Khan in the 5th minute of the match. Franklin Paredes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miroslav Pristavkin in the 7th minute. Klim Kostygin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Honduras's Franklin Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klim Kostygin in the 11th minute of play. In the 17th minute Jairo Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Innokentiy Blyakhin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miroslav Pristavkins short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Franklin Paredes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Franklin Paredes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Franklin Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslav Pristavkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Jairo Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Innokentiy Blyakhin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selvin Rosales in the 34th minute of play forced Kazakhstan's goalkeeper Innokentiy Blyakhin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franklin Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klim Kostygin, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Honduras's Franklin Paredes got control of the ball when Miroslav Pristavkin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute, Selvin Rosales ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Innokentiy Blyakhin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 44 minutes, Gilberto Quijada mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the Kazakhstan players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Selvin Rosales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Selvin Rosales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Innokentiy Blyakhin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Franklin Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miroslav Pristavkin in the 57th minute of play. Will Villanueva kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Kazakhstan's Innokentiy Blyakhin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Corpeño in the 91st minute of play. Innokentiy Blyakhin made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Selvin Rosales sent off a good shot on target. The Honduras players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
