After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Teofilo Venceslao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Teofilo Venceslao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Teofilo Venceslao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Teofilo Venceslao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albano Luke charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albano Luke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Albano Luke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Ponc tried in the 51st minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Sorapong Raisungnurn a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruben Lorien in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. 57 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sorapong Raisungnurn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Thanks to some nice moves Hector Covarrubias could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Sorapong Raisungnurn however easily saved by the left post. 68 minutes into the game, Alan Campos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tiburones Rojos the free kick. Alan Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 69th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, Ruben Lorien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiburones Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Lorien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Lorien in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Teofilo Venceslao managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiburones Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Venceslao was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ruben Lorien came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Tiburones Rojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Lorien couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Albano Luke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Fausto Egoitz's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Egoitz helped the player get up and apologised. 95 minutes into the match, Hector Covarrubias dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sorapong Raisungnurn, 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
