Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. 11 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tim Johnstone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tim Johnstone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Tim Johnstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by The Tigers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 21 minutes into the match, The Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Tim Johnstone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Johnstone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Johnstone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tim Johnstone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carl Downes was the one to do the kick off. The Tigers's Tim Johnstone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save The Tigers from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Tim Johnstone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 68 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Tim Johnstone managed to make a qualified save. The Tigers's players were relieved. 73 minutes into the match, Carl Downes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carl Downes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 78th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carl Downes in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play forced The Tigers's goalkeeper Tim Johnstone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Owen Noble shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, The Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phil Clarke to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
