With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Matthew Garrido's late challenge caught a MARAZZINO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Garrido helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Matthew Garrido hit a great ball. After 36 minutes of play, Panama's Abraham Alguacil made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lütfü Öktemer was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Panama's Aaron Barrios got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute of the match, Necdet Tibet tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcos Cotilla saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Răducanu in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfü Öktemer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. When Abraham Alguacil fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Abraham Alguacil a yellow card for diving instead. Claudiu Răducanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudiu Răducanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Răducanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The supporters of MARAZZINO booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudiu Răducanu in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. MARAZZINO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Svetomir Maier in the 57th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Necdet Tibet heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When MARAZZINO's Claudiu Răducanu in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudiu Răducanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 77th minute Claudiu Răducanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great ball. Lütfü Öktemer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 83rd minute of play. Claudiu Răducanu scored 5-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svetomir Maier in the 94th minute of the match.
