Gabriele Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Camilo Salvidor successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Peru booed when Menchu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Menchu FC's Primitivo Rocendo was substituted for Uriel Gorri. Menchu FC's Arturo Roderigo was substituted for Peter Söderqwist.
