But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Cazalla couldn't finish the play. In the 15th match minute, LEBEG Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Mastrocola to maneuver through the defense. LEBEG Team's Arrigo Talone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 22nd minute of play. Armin Borgatello's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armin Borgatello helped the player get up and apologised. After 25 played minutes LEBEG Team got a freekick which was hit by Armin Borgatello. Arrigo Talone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anthony Tonon in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arrigo Talone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 32nd minute of play. Armin Borgatello was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 36 played minutes LEBEG Team got a freekick which was hit by Armin Borgatello. 37 minutes into the match, LEBEG Team's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Arrigo Talone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximiliano Escribano scored 0-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arrigo Talone, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Cavanna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, LEBEG Team's Alberto Cavanna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind LEBEG Team's goalkeeper Arrigo Talone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ciro Caniglia charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Caniglia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes LEBEG Team got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Caniglia. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arrigo Talone having to interfere. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Amedeo Di Vincenzo, made in the 67th minute of the game. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, LEBEG Team's Arrigo Talone got control of the ball when Maximiliano Escribano tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of LEBEG Team booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Arrigo Talone made a huge save. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arrigo Talone. Arrigo Talone yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. When Maximiliano Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximiliano Escribano couldn't finish the play. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Arrigo Talone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, LEBEG Team's Ernesto Cardillo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ernesto Cardillo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of LEBEG Team protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ernesto Cardillo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. LEBEG Team:s Arrigo Talone showed great skill when he stopped Jaime Cazalla:s penalty. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arrigo Talone came out and tried to block the shot, but Maximiliano Escribano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 92nd minute. 97 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arrigo Talone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Uruguay played a much better game than LEBEG Team and deserved their victory. The LEBEG Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
