MarineerS FK's Arnoldo Leicea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Leicea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoldo Leicea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of the match. After 27 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnoldo Leicea was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnoldo Leicea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Primitivo Andino with Daniel Zorita as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes MarineerS FK got a freekick which was hit by Cezmi Gök. In the 47th minute, Ecuador's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dinç Tuncay fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The MarineerS FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cezmi Gök to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, MarineerS FK's Tekin Batırhan got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Tekin Batırhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 67 minutes, Agustín Saelices mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the MarineerS FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Carl Rundell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Žydrūnas Pauža put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. After 86 minutes, Cristian Sancho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the MarineerS FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MarineerS FK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Žydrūnas Pauža scored 3-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. MarineerS FK were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
