Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Önder Cebi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Önder Cebi came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the game, Önder Cebi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 48th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 84 minutes of play, Sydney FC's Önder Cebi made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 87thth minute of the game Emanuel Ogășanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sydney FC had won after a very even match.
