In the 34th minute, Lin Zhen Yuan sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Moreira having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Giorgian Arrascaeta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giorgian Arrascaeta in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgian Arrascaeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute.
