The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Roberto Cherro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mateus Teves was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Mateus Teves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Cherro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Cherro might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateus Teves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Cherro ran back to his position shaking his head. Mateus Teves was a little too slow when Roberto Cherro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. Mateus Teves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Cherro in the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Deportivo Mandiyu getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Abelardo Magallanes hit a great ball. Mateus Teves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Cherro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Hildeberto Sesimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roque Narvaja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roque Narvaja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hildeberto Sesimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mandiyu's goal looked a bit too open when Damião Passos came free, but Roque Narvaja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Roberto Cherro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Monte Gordo's Mateus Teves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute Roberto Cherro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Teves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roque Narvaja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Leonardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Roque Narvaja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Leonardo in the 27th minute of play. Roque Narvaja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damião Passos in the 28th minute of the match. When Rodrigo Palacios came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Deportivo Mandiyu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Palacios couldn't finish the play. After 32 minutes, Adrián Guillermo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Mandiyu and the Academia Monte Gordo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roque Narvaja came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Monte Gordo's Hildeberto Sesimbra. But to his dismay, Hildeberto Sesimbra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Eliseo Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Deportivo Mandiyu's Rodrigo Palacios nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateus Teves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 44th minute, Roberto Cherro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateus Teves was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 47th match minute, Academia Monte Gordo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Morata to maneuver through the defense. Academia Monte Gordo's Mateus Teves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Cherro in the 48th minute of play. Deportivo Mandiyu's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ignacio Lopez in the 49th minute. A nice corner shot did that Ignacio Lopez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mateus Teves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roberto Cherro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mateus Teves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Cherro, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55thth minute of the game Roberto Cherro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Monte Gordo's Mateus Teves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Damião Passos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roque Narvaja. Deportivo Mandiyu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damião Passos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. When Baldomero Rufo fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Mandiyu's protests and gave Baldomero Rufo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Deportivo Mandiyu getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Baldomero Rufo hit a great ball. When Deportivo Mandiyu's Roberto Cherro in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Academia Monte Gordo's goalie prevented a goal. Mateus Teves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Cherro, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Morata during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Deportivo Mandiyu made a substitution. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Mandiyu. Deportivo Mandiyu made a substitution. Chiquito Benítez replaced Roberto Cherro. Mateus Teves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chiquito Benítez went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Mateus Teves came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Mandiyu's Chiquito Benítez. But to his dismay, Chiquito Benítez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-2. The audience was convinced that Chiquito Benítez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mateus Teves was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. In the 97th minute Florian Petruzzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Teves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deportivo Mandiyu were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Academia Monte Gordo for a fine match.
