Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Erubiel Urtats capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Guillermo Monclús kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute of the match, Clemente Cordera got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 28th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erubiel Urtats's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 32nd play minute Guillermo Monclús came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dante Lacasa. 3-1. 36 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Orlando Gatti. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luca Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 40 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣ the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a free kick in the 40th minute. Guillermo Monclús's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. If Guillermo Monclús had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Hugo Orlando Gatti successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 74th minute. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 78th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
