Sven-Olof Stephansson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sundborn IF's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Henning Bennet got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-1. 11 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Ted Holmgren sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute Ted Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Holmgren in the 15th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalle Askberg having to interfere. Kalle Askberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. Kalle Askberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kalle Askberg. Kalle Askberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Kalle Askberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Sundborn IF's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Kalle Askberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Ted Holmgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalle Askberg having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Alf Hansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Sundborn IF made a substitution. Kaloyan Mitashev replaced Henning Bennet. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ted Holmgren was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sundborn IF's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kalle Askberg came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 54 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Sundborn IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Pitta to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Olof Stephansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaloyan Mitashev, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalle Askberg having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Kalle Askberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 73rd minute, Felix Montenegro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kalle Askberg. The goal made the score 3-3. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Holmgren in the 75th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaloyan Mitashev in the 78th minute of play. Sundborn IF's Kalle Askberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Sundborn IF from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Hansson in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kalle Askberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 90 minutes, Alf Hansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sundborn IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Hansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Bernardo Pitta's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Pitta helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Sundborn IF getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Bernardo Pitta hit a great ball.
