A well-hit corner resulted in Aggelos Lazopoulos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Godfredo Erruki scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arturo Carvallo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. When Maximiliano Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximiliano Escribano couldn't finish the play. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Virgilio Quentin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 27th minute of play. Godfredo Erruki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godfredo Erruki in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfredo Erruki in the 33rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godfredo Erruki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godfredo Erruki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Virgilio Quentin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 40th minute of the match. Godfredo Erruki might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Godfredo Erruki ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramiro Federigo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Azeari stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Chen Lin De stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Chen Lin De tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 56 minutes into the match, Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Virgilio Quentin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's Aggelos Lazopoulos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Arturo Carvallo in the 57 minute of the game. In the 60th minute, Chen Lin De hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Azeari came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godfredo Erruki in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC made a substitution. Marcos Guillelmus replaced Casimiro Bermund. After having played for 80 minutes, Godfredo Erruki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Godfredo Erruki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A throw-in in the 88th minute of the game was made by Arturo Carvallo with Francisco Seco as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 89 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Virgilio Quentin. Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
