An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfredo Erruki in the 7th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aggelos Lazopoulos to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Hector Azeari reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcos Cotilla. The goal made the score 2-0. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 48 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hector Azeari. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Azeari stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Aggelos Lazopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godfredo Erruki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Merten Münch made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. 64 minutes into the match, Hector Azeari had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hector Azeari was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godfredo Erruki went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Godfredo Erruki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 92ndth minute of the game Godfredo Erruki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Virgilio Quentin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tandil Córdoba Legnano FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
