The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maximiliano Escribano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Donciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emilio Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilio Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 13th minute Emilio Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Machado in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Emilio Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Werneck FC - DMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Uruguay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Joaquin Gayoso had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Joélson Amaral's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Emilio Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Emilio Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Emilio Machado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 36th minute, Jorge Sainz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Emilio Machado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Emilio Machado really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Linares during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Caetano Linares hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Emilio Machado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. Emilio Machado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Werneck FC - DMZ from getting a goal against them. The excitement rose when Werneck FC - DMZ's Joélson Amaral after 55 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Uruguay's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 4-0. In the 60th minute, Emilio Machado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Werneck FC - DMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 62 minutes into the game, Emilio Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Donciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 65th minute of the match. Werneck FC - DMZ made a substitution. Zé Paulo Luz replaced Emilio Machado. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Luz in the 85th minute of play. Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 88th minute of play. If Fu Ting Nan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Werneck FC - DMZ made a substitution. Luís Coutinho replaced Caetano Linares. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Maximiliano Escribano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 7-0 became the score in the 98th minute when Zé Paulo Luz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Werneck FC - DMZ were victorious despite being under pressure from Uruguay for much of the match.
