Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Luz in the 9th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Donciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Isidoro Sarmiento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Felix Donciu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emilio Machados short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Marcos Cotilla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Marcos Cotilla managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Werneck FC - DMZ's Zé Paulo Luz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 25 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. When Geraldo Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Werneck FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Dionísio couldn't finish the play. Felix Donciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 31st minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Werneck FC - DMZ's Geraldo Dionísio. But to his dismay, Geraldo Dionísio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Luz in the 48th minute of play.
The wind increased when Emilio Machado made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Zé Paulo Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Zé Paulo Luz made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Felix Donciu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 56th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Paulo Luz in the 70th minute of the match. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Zé Paulo Luz came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Werneck FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Luz couldn't finish the play. Zé Paulo Luz scored 8-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Werneck FC - DMZ fully deserved thier win.
