Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Buitenhout FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Lluc didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Buitenhout FC's Ruud Reinders nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Sjaak Degens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruud Reinders in the 13th minute of play. Buitenhout FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ted Fokkelman in the 14th minute. When Buitenhout FC's Ruud Reinders in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Buitenhout FC's Tudor Mihoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Puig in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute, David Jans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Iwo Wietrzychowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Buitenhout FC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ted Fokkelman took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Reinders in the 56th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute Buitenhout FC were awarded a corner. Ted Fokkelman went to the cornerflag to take it. Ted Fokkelman made a great header on Buitenhout FC's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Reinders, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Ruud Reinders took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Reinders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 minutes of play, Buitenhout FC's Ruud Reinders made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Reinders in the 74th minute of play. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Buitenhout FC's Teodosio Johans was substituted for Sjaak Degens. 81 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buitenhout FC the free kick. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferry Hebels, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 88 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ruud Reinders came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodosio Johans's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lautaro Puig during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodosio Johans in the 95th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodosio Johans in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
