Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Junior in the 9th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Jenipapo SC's Vinicio Junior nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aníbal Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Junior in the 14th minute of the match. A collision led to Jenipapo SC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Vinicio Junior hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustín Saelices in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Seaman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 21 minutes, Aníbal Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jenipapo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Seaman. David Seaman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Aníbal Alagoano scored 2-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Seaman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Seaman saved Jenipapo SC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Raphael Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Junior in the 40th minute of play. Jenipapo SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arsenio Gipuzkoa in the 43rd minute. Arsenio Gipuzkoa made a great header on Jenipapo SC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Browne didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Raphael Cunha got a free kick in the 82nd minute. David Seaman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Jenipapo SC's David Seaman got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphael Cunha in the 90th minute of the match.
