Ersen Bumba ran back to his position shaking his head. 12 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ersen Bumba. Ali Numan Afak scored 2-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Ersen Bumba recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 40th minute, Ersen Bumba reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Numan Afak in the 44th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ersen Bumba to make the kick off.
