The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Felix Montenegro sped through CLAYMORE COUNTRY's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lucas Maciel. 10 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Arantes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play forced CLAYMORE COUNTRY's goalkeeper Lucas Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Maciel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilbert Bonsaint got free with Julio Vera in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CLAYMORE COUNTRY were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anísio Azevedo took the corner. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Lucas Maciel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Dusty Amireau got a free kick in the 39th minute. Lucas Maciel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 40th minute of the match. When CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Washington Arantes in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 43rd minute CLAYMORE COUNTRY were awarded a corner. Anísio Azevedo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Washington Arantes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Bonsaint in the 45th minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lucas Maciel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind CLAYMORE COUNTRY's goalkeeper Lucas Maciel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Lucas Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. CLAYMORE COUNTRY made a substitution. Bardo Cameno replaced Sun Kun Bing. CLAYMORE COUNTRY's Washington Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anísio Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anísio Azevedo in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lucas Maciel firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 91 played minutes CLAYMORE COUNTRY got a freekick which was hit by Washington Arantes. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than CLAYMORE COUNTRY.
