Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo-Nicolás Pérez in the 9th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Black Rose 1979's Enzo-Nicolás Pérez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Joel Gaona got a free kick in the 14th minute. D.J. Gol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Black Rose 1979's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 19th minute of play. If Éder Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saved Black Rose 1979 from getting behind. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the game, D.J. Gol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Hitz. After 45 played minutes Black Rose 1979 got a freekick which was hit by Éder Neto. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by D.J. Gol in the 56th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Waldemar Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from D.J. Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Black Rose 1979 from getting a goal against them. In the 67th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 84 minutes into the game, Joel Venceslao was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Rose 1979's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. Joel Venceslao kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo-Nicolás Pérez in the 87th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 90 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Hitz came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 91st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Black Rose 1979 players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
