Pan Jian Yong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. 范帆天 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 范帆天 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pan Jian Yong went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部's goalkeeper 范帆天, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute Lions United were awarded a corner. Gao Cheng Yun went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Gao Cheng Yun got away a dangerous shot. After the first half Lions United were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pan Jian Yong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Du Xiang Xi with 杜翀坤 as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Jurgi in the 54th minute of play forced Lions United's goalkeeper Steve De Wilde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 played minutes Lions United got a freekick which was hit by Peng De Guang. Murathan Oğuzbala kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Pan Jian Yong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 范帆天 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Pan Jian Yong took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 范帆天. 范帆天 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. When Pan Jian Yong came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Lions United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pan Jian Yong couldn't finish the play. Pan Jian Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 范帆天. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pan Jian Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 范帆天 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 范帆天 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pan Jian Yong, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Lions United were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gao Cheng Yun took the corner. The corner led Lions United's Gao Cheng Yun to fire away a dangerous shot which 范帆天 despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Steve De Wilde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murathan Oğuzbala in the 87th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the game, Niels Vandamme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lions United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部 the free kick. In the 94th minute, Niels Vandamme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The Lions United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lions United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
