After having played for 13 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. XV de Piracicaba's Fonso Zotillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 15th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Goiano in the 21st minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fonso Zotillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Jurdans short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fonso Zotillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 27th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cristian Sancho sped through XV de Piracicaba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fonso Zotillo. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Montoia. The supporters of Ecuador booed when XV de Piracicaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fonso Zotillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Remo Goiano made the kick off in the second half. XV de Piracicaba's Remo Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Montoia in the 60th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Fábio Montoia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fonso Zotillo made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. XV de Piracicaba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Felix Montenegro scored to the left of an out of position Fonso Zotillo, making the score, 0-3. 78 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of XV de Piracicaba's Fonso Zotillo. Fonso Zotillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Zorita in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fonso Zotillo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fonso Zotillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
