Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rufino Giron got the match started through his kick off. In the 4thth minute of the game Rufino Giron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Mauricio Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Rufino Giron scored to the left of an out of position Jacobo Nores, making the score, 1-0. In the 13th minute, Club Puerto Quito's Rufino Giron dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Club Puerto Quito's Ayoví Costoya got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rufino Giron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Rufino Giron sent off a good shot on target. After 28th play minutes Rufino Giron shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal. Joakim Norberg hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ayoví Costoya. Rufino Girons short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Jacobo Nores to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Rufino Giron sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 40 minutes, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rufino Giron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. Ayoví Costoya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Joakim Norberg kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rufino Giron in the 63rd minute of the match. Jaime Pardo got in the 66th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mauricio Precioso handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Rufino Giron scored 6-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ayoví Costoya, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The Club Puerto Quito fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Club Puerto Quito's Rufino Giron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 75 minutes into the game, Ayoví Costoya was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Puerto Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. Ayoví Costoya kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Mauricio Precioso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 77th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rufino Giron in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. In the 86th minute, Rufino Giron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Puerto Quito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Rufino Giron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Rufino Giron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Puerto Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rufino Giron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Paraguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Puerto Quito.
