Udinese's attentive Alexander Damiani managed to snatch the ball when Alonso Berganza made a throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 4th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Alexander Bottone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Augusto Clemente sent off a good shot on target. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 36th minute. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander Bottone to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 55th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.S. Udinese's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alvaro Rotili in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Bottone in the 60th minute of play. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.S. Udinese's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Rotili was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 78 minutes, Alexander Bottone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.S. Udinese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Bottone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ercole Fiorentino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Gallo in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvaro Rotili saved A.S. Udinese from getting behind. 93 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Ercole Fiorentino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, A.S. Udinese's Cristiano Paolucci got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Ercole Fiorentino managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.S. Udinese's supporters rose to their feet, but Ercole Fiorentino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than A.S. Udinese.
