Eser Şemsi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esterilla Van Meenen, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brend Van Laeck got free with Julio Vera in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Christiaan Elsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Ecuador were furious when Antonio Arias was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Christiaan Elsen:s penalty. After 54 minutes of play, All Stars Gent's Christiaan Elsen made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there!
