Gala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. I Gusti Wibowo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Sedef Mehmet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
