The supporters of Mexico booed when GG Team FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amedeo Alfani didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fortunato Montini skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 5th minute of play forced GG Team FC's goalkeeper Fortunato Montini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. GG Team FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fortunato Montini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Montini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. GG Team FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of GG Team FC's goalie and right to Alberto Tafalla. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. GG Team FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Fortunato Montini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Amedeo Alfani hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hassan Marcou in the 28th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fortunato Montini having to make a save. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave De Bartolo in the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GG Team FC's Alvise Cerrone got a free kick in the 38th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luca Zorita during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. In the 45th minute, Hassan Marcou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GG Team FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dave De Bartolo made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fortunato Montini, 1-2. In the 60th minute Dave De Bartolo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 62nd minute of play forced GG Team FC's goalkeeper Fortunato Montini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. GG Team FC made a substitution. Lilian Thuram replaced Amedeo Alfani. Mexico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
