Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Brazilio Butt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DIF LEEDS BK's Pál Kormos got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Selmo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 19 minutes, Pál Kormos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIF LEEDS BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pál Kormos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Jerry Jonasson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 24 minutes into the game, DIF LEEDS BK's Saul Drew nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 28 played minutes DIF LEEDS BK got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Selmo. Brazilio Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of DIF LEEDS BK booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ulf Nordlander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 35th minute, Eduardo Selmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Pál Kormos scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 3-0. In the 41stth minute of the game Ulf Nordlander who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brazilio Butt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulf Nordlander was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jerry Jonasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brazilio Butt having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, Saul Drew had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saul Drew was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulf Nordlander in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Jorge Sainz hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. DIF LEEDS BK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eduardo Selmo in the 75th minute. A nice corner shot did that Eduardo Selmo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Ulf Nordlander came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the DIF LEEDS BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulf Nordlander couldn't finish the play. Pál Kormos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. DIF LEEDS BK's Ulf Nordlander got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th match minute, DIF LEEDS BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Lundström to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Cazalla charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Cazalla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jaime Cazalla hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
