Fabio Hernando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Hernando made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 67th minute of play forced Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goalkeeper Bonifacio Naldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonifacio Naldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 70th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeronimo Birila in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. Atletico Calamar Saavedra made a substitution. Serginho Silva replaced Fabio Hernando. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
