The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 91st minute of play. Blue Mountain State's Rıfat Tanır quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alonso Berganza, made in the 94th minute of the game. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Blue Mountain State throughout the match.
