Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karol Panasewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karol Panasewicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Afşar Uçuk got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Robin Sharma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 27th minute of play. Axel Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Sharma having to interfere. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robin Sharma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 34th minute of play forced Blue Mountain State's goalkeeper Robin Sharma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Karol Panasewicz notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Karol Panasewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Mountain State's supporters rose to their feet, but Karol Panasewicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. With a little luck, Blue Mountain State's Robin Sharma got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Axel Montenegro in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Robin Sharma, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karol Panasewicz in the 57th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colombia's Antonio Indiano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rıfat Tanır in the 58 minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Panasewicz came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Afşar Uçuk who took care of the corner kick. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afşar Uçuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
