The supporters of Venezuela booed when Joxa mé trasan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Beliran didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Beliran ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Laureano Beliran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laureano Beliran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Edward Engström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute of the match. Laureano Beliran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Arvin Gerdberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Joxa mé trasan's Arne Bronco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laureano Beliran in the 41st minute. Tobias Lundhberg charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tobias Lundhberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tobias Lundhberg hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

A sloppy throw-in by Arman von Liechtenstein in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert.
