The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Olivedos getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Luís Novaes hit a great ball. With a little luck, Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense got control of the ball when Denis Rivas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute Oktay Eğriöz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Paso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rômulo Custódio came free, but Mira Pene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Olivedos's goal looked a bit too open when Oktay Eğriöz came free, but Abelardo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Ubelteso was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 43 minutes into the game, Luís Novaes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olivedos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paso FC the free kick. The supporters of Paso FC booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oktay Eğriöz might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oktay Eğriöz ran back to his position shaking his head. If Abel de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
