Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damaso Sancho started the match with the kick off. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damaso Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho got a free kick in the 9th minute. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Máté Márton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Cambeiro struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Máté Márton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Máté Márton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Froilan Iaki took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The supporters of Panama booed when Congo Bongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Iaki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Froilan Iaki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Matthew Garrido's late challenge caught a Congo Bongo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Garrido helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damaso Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Damaso Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Isidoro Sarmiento came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidoro Sarmiento couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice moves Abraham Alguacil could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Máté Márton however easily saved by the left post. Aaron Barrios charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Barrios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Oidor in the 77th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Oidor in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Panama's Matthew Garrido got a free kick in the 84th minute. Arnaldo Oidor might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Oidor ran back to his position shaking his head. If Arnaldo Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abraham Alguacil's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Máté Márton firmly grabbed it by the left post.
