When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Valer Nuțu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Mihai Negara's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihai Negara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, one of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-. Valer Nuțu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Valer Nuțu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Negara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Voinescu in the 35th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the game, Mexico's Luca Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valer Nuțu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 40 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valer Nuțu. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valer Nuțu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Luca Rouco got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-5. 45 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maxim Strugure made a kick off. Valer Nuțu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play. Valer Nuțu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 54th minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Valer Nuțu made a huge save. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valer Nuțu having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Valer Nuțu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Valer Nuțu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico played a much better game than Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- and deserved their victory. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
