Rosario Martel ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Conrado Guter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Conrado Guter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rosario Martel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Rosario Martel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Espiga to maneuver through the defense. Programayin's Hamza Emin was substituted for Rosario Martel. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Hamza Emin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Hamza Emin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergio Agüero made a kick off. Sergio Agüero took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Programayin's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Agüero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antonio Florian in the 74 minute of the game. In the 75th minute Sergio Agüero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 77th minute of play.
