In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tykhon Burdiyan's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tykhon Burdiyan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Kolos getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Tykhon Burdiyan hit a great ball. El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Evert Sandell in the 78 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Lars Bjurström managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Kolos's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Bjurström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 96th minute Lars Bjurström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that FC Kolos were the better team. FC Kolos's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
