After a defensive mix-up in Szombathely Squirrels's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnold Szuper came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Francisco Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Tivadar Demeter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Szombathely Squirrels defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnold Szuper. The Szombathely Squirrels fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnold Szuper should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Tivadar Demeter sped through Chile's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tivadar Demeter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 55th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Tivadar Demeter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Carballar got free with Arnold Szuper in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute Lei Jian Xiong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Mariano Lacasa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnold Szuper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 80th minute of the match. Szombathely Squirrels's Arnold Szuper proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Szombathely Squirrels from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Arnold Szuper in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's Lei Jian Xiong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
