CS La Libertad's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrigo Lobo in the 8th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Honduras fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! Agustin Barrantes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 10 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Agustin Barrantes came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Agustin Barrantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Agustin Barrantes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 16th minute of play forced CS La Libertad's goalkeeper Ernesto Monge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustin Barrantes got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Ureña could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Millot in the 26th minute of play. Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Agustin Barrantes had several of the Honduras's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Lautaro Navarro as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerardo Millot went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ernesto Monge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Agustin Barrantes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CS La Libertad fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Millot, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. CS La Libertad's Luis Martinez was substituted for Rodrigo Lobo. Agustin Barrantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by CS La Libertad's Agustin Barrantes. But to his dismay, Agustin Barrantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 66 minutes into the match, Gerardo Millot notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Millot, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Monge having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Volio in the 82nd minute of the match.
