The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ricardo Zorita was out of position in the 3 minute of play, and Sidnei Baptista capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sidnei Baptista really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. If Sidnei Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Adilson Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Sidnei Baptista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sidnei Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Sidnei Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maicon da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maicon da Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Santos Campineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maicon da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sidnei Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Sidnei Baptista sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moises Fernandino during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sidnei Baptista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. 31 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidnei Baptista. 32 minutes into the match Sidnei Baptista climbed in front of goal and pressed up 5-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Sidnei Baptista sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute, Sidnei Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos Campineiro's Ahmad Reza Asadi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Fernandino in the 46th minute of play. Ahmad Reza Asadi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Santos Campineiro made a substitution. Sidney Albuquerque replaced Onuralp Ergüden. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidney Albuquerque made a kick off. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ahmad Reza Asadi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. 59 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Sidney Albuquerque came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60th play minutes Anibal Enekoitz shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Ricardo Zorita and just under the crossbar into goal. The Santos Campineiro fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Santos Campineiro's Anibal Enekoitz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Santos Campineiro's Anibal Enekoitz. But to his dismay, Anibal Enekoitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Geronimo Raebert made in the 72nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sidney Albuquerque immediately put the ball in play. 74 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Luque came free, but Ahmad Reza Asadi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jesus Carvallo's late challenge caught a Santos Campineiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jesus Carvallo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santos Campineiro booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 87th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. 89 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Antunes came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Anibal Enekoitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. Sidney Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Anibal Enekoitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Anibal Enekoitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sidney Albuquerque succeeded in the game's 97th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 11-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Santos Campineiro fully deserved thier win.
