The audience was convinced that Sebastian Villa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bienvenido Zapata was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Bienvenido Zapata came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Christian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Valentín Carvallo hit a great ball. In the 44th minute extreme fc were awarded a corner. Tony Jonsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Carmelo Hiriart kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Carmelo Hiriart was in a good position and ended up with the ball after extreme fc's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Araoz Nogueira in the 46th minute of play. Bienvenido Zapata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ceferino Reyes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
