Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Carlos Alberto Tevez started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Cris Montoia heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Fredric Melander got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Carlos Alberto Tevez sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute, Mariusz Snow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pål Sefastsson having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Fredric Melander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Carlos Alberto Tevez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Pål Sefastsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Ecuador's Antonio Arias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonio Arias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonio Arias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Sancho to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Tevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. National Team Cape-Verde were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leon Fasgar took the corner. Rudolf Lundgren made a great header on National Team Cape-Verde's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennvar Post, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, National Team Cape-Verde's Mariusz Snow got a free kick in the 68th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennvar Post, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Fasgar in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Bennvar Post came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pål Sefastsson was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Felix Montenegro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Felix Montenegro really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bennvar Post in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Bennvar Post sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. National Team Cape-Verde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leon Fasgar in the 95th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Rudolf Lundgren. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. National Team Cape-Verde were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
