Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Laguna in the 19th minute of the match. Luisinho Laguna took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luisinho Laguna went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 34th minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisinho Laguna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Luisinho Laguna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Luisinho Laguna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, El Gallo de Moron's Luisinho Laguna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0.

The supporters of Ecuador booed when El Gallo de Moron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Rodera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by El Gallo de Moron's Luisinho Laguna. But to his dismay, Luisinho Laguna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 61 minutes into the game, Luisinho Laguna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 66th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Teofilo Garrote kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho Gonzalez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Laguna, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute, Luisinho Laguna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Gallo de Moron fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92ndth minute of the game Luisinho Laguna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Martin Cubillos charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Cubillos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th match minute, El Gallo de Moron was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Cubillos to maneuver through the defense. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. El Gallo de Moron were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
