When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Zoil Pequeño put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Alexander Carballo's late challenge caught a Deportivo ScrugenFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. Deportivo ScrugenFC made a substitution. Leobardo Padierna replaced Zoil Pequeño. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Fortun Bobes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 15 minutes into the match, Leobardo Padierna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 3-0. Leobardo Padierna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Leobardo Padierna might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leobardo Padierna ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leobardo Padierna. When Costa Rica's Axel Tasis in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leobardo Padierna got free with Benito Sanz in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute, Leobardo Padierna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo ScrugenFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 34 minutes into the game, Deportivo ScrugenFC's Leobardo Padierna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. In the 37th minute, Leobardo Padierna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 7-0. After having played for 41 minutes, Doriva Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo ScrugenFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doriva Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Ferrant during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 44th minute. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leobardo Padierna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Doriva Saldanha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Deportivo ScrugenFC:s goal. If Leobardo Padierna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leobardo Padierna in the 61st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leobardo Padierna in the 64th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leobardo Padierna in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 67 minutes of play, Deportivo ScrugenFC's Leobardo Padierna made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leobardo Padierna in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leobardo Padierna in the 77th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leobardo Padierna scored 11-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Leobardo Padierna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Deportivo ScrugenFC made a substitution. Zeng Jian Cheng replaced Doriva Saldanha. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leobardo Padierna went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 13-0 was the resulting score.
