Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Pat Rice scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Murat Zelenika's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murat Zelenika in the 56th managed to get into a good position. After a rather tough play, FK KLIS's Murat Zelenika got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute Murat Zelenika shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giannis Konstantinou made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giannis Konstantinou having to interfere. After 80 played minutes FK KLIS got a freekick which was hit by Yuan Bin Liang. Murat Zelenika received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Börge Tidéksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FK KLIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börge Tidéksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
