Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Juliano Álvarez made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Juliano Álvarez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juliano Álvarez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Anastasio Burni capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anastasio Burni really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 12th minute of play forced RIVER PINAMAR fc's goalkeeper Jorge Cutberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Juliano Álvarez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER PINAMAR fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Urdaspal went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Benedicto Tadzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anastasio Burni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. If Anastasio Burni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juliano Álvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Benedicto Tadzio sent off a good shot on target. Benedicto Tadzio took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, RIVER PINAMAR fc's Anastasio Burni nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. After 55 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. In the 58th minute, Zeledon Urdaspal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Cutberto having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Tadzio in the 67th minute of play. When Axel Tasis fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Axel Tasis a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. In the 69th minute, Anastasio Burni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. When Benedicto Tadzio came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the RIVER PINAMAR fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedicto Tadzio couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, RIVER PINAMAR fc's Aleksander Piszczor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleksander Piszczor in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Aleksander Piszczor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that RIVER PINAMAR fc were the better team. RIVER PINAMAR fc's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
