Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Mexico's Joel Gaona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernst de Hoop narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 6th minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Ernst de Hoop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lemel SV! Joel Gaona walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Lemel SV's Ernst de Hoop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 18th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ernst de Hoop reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 33rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Dante Lacasa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lemel SV were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Augusto Mello took the corner. A well done corner resulted in Manfred Konradsson drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Mexico's goalkeeper. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Cazalla during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ettore Petroni to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ernst de Hoop. Ernst de Hoop yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacek Furlit's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacek Furlit helped the player get up and apologised. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 69th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Lemel SV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. Lemel SV:s Ernst de Hoop showed great skill when he stopped Joel Gaona:s penalty. Ernst de Hoop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Claudio Caniggia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mexico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
